Purpose of Adoption

•  he transmission and differential are rigidly connected to the power plant frame to achieve a solid shift-feel and a direct feel at acceleration from a standstill or during acceleration.

Service Point


Power Plant Frame Removal

For details on the procedure, refer to the Workshop Manual.
•  The stud bolt is pressed into the power plant frame. Read the Workshop Manual carefully so as not to damage the parts while servicing.

•  After removing the nut, loosen the stud bolt while keeping the installation surfaces of the rear differential and power plant frame parallel, and remove it and the power plant frame as a single unit.
Caution
•  If the power plant frame tilts against the rear differential, the threaded hole of the rear differential may be damaged. When removing the power plant frame, always loosen the stud bolt while keeping the installation surfaces of the rear differential and power plant frame parallel.
Note
•  The stud bolt is pressed into the power plant frame, therefore, it requires greater torque than a general bolt when loosening.


Power Plant Frame Installation

•  Install the stud bolt to the differential.

•  Assemble the power plant frame from the rear differential side and temporarily tighten all the nuts.

•  Following the tightening order indicated in the workshop manual, tighten the PPF, rear differential, and transmission to the specified torque.
