OIL SEAL (EXTENSION HOUSING) REPLACEMENT [M66M-D]

1. Remove the center under cover. (With center under cover) (See CENTER UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

2. Remove the plate. (With plate) (See PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3. Remove the tunnel member.

5. Disconnect the catalytic converter (TWC) from the exhaust manifold. (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 1.5, SKYACTIV-G 2.0].)

6. Suspend the catalytic converter (TWC) using a cable as shown in the figure.

7. Remove the propeller shaft. (See PROPELLER SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

8. Press the position of the oil seal shown in the figure with a flathead screwdriver and raise the oil seal.

9. Insert the flathead screwdriver into the gap made in Step 7 and remove the oil seal.

10. Using the SST (49 B025 004), tap in a new oil seal until it contacts the case.

11. Apply the specified oil to the oil seal lip.

12. Install the propeller shaft. (See PROPELLER SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

13. Connect the catalytic converter (TWC) to the exhaust manifold. (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 1.5, SKYACTIV-G 2.0].)

15. Install the tunnel member.
