ACTIVE BONNET WARNING ALARM
id081300010500
Purpose
• The active bonnet warning alarm notifies the driver of an active bonnet malfunction if the active bonnet warning light has a malfunction.
Function
• While DTC B00D3:01 or B00D3:29 (active bonnet warning light (communication error)) is detected, if the SAS control module detects a DTC other than DTC B00D3:01 and B00D3:29 (except DTCs which do not turn on the active bonnet warning light), it sends an active bonnet warning alarm request signal to the instrument cluster.
• When the instrument cluster receives an active bonnet warning alarm request signal from the SAS control module via CAN communication, it activates the buzzer.
• The active bonnet warning alarm operates the buzzer in the patterns shown in the figure.
Construction
• The active bonnet warning alarm sounds a buzzer in the instrument cluster.
Operation
1. When the ignition is switched ON (engine off or on), the instrument cluster receives (1) an active bonnet warning alarm request signal from the SAS control module.
2. The instrument cluster microcomputer turns the transistor on (2) based on the active bonnet warning alarm request signal.
3. When the transistor turns on, a ground circuit for the active bonnet warning alarm is established and the buzzer is activated (3).
Fail-safe
