Description

Exceeds maximum number of pulse counts for front roof link motor (RH)

Detection condition
•  The retractable hardtop control module detects a pulse signal exceeding the upper limit of the pulse count number from the front roof link motor (RH).
Fail-safe
•  Stops retractable hardtop operation
Possible cause
•  Front roof link motor (RH) is disengaged from front roof link (motor idling)
•  Front roof link motor (RH) malfunction
•  Retractable hardtop control module malfunction

VERIFY OTHER RETRACTABLE HARDTOP CONTROL MODULE DTCs
•  Clear the DTC for the retractable hardtop control module using the M-MDS.
•  Retrieve the retractable hardtop control module DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Is the DTCs U3000:44/U3000:45/U3000:49 displayed?
Yes
Replace the retractable hardtop control module, then go to Step 4.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT FRONT ROOF LINK
•  Verify if the front roof link motor (RH) is disengaged from the front roof link.
•  Is the front roof link motor (RH) disengaged from the front roof link?
Yes
Install the front roof link motor (RH) to the correct position, then go to Step 4.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT FRONT ROOF LINK MOTOR (RH)
•  Inspect the front roof link motor (RH).
•  Is the front roof link motor (RH) normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the front roof link motor (RH), then go to the next step.
4
VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED
•  Clear the DTC for the retractable hardtop control module using the M-MDS.
•  Retrieve the retractable hardtop control module DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Is the same DTC displayed?
Yes
Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
•  If the malfunction recurs, replace the retractable hardtop control module.
Go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED
•  Are any other DTCs displayed?
Yes
Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
