Description

Exceeds maximum number of pulse counts for rear roof link motor (LH)

Detection condition
•  The retractable hardtop control module detects a pulse signal exceeding the maximum number of the pulse counts from the rear roof link motor (LH).
Fail-safe
•  Stops retractable hardtop operation
Possible cause
•  Rear roof link motor (LH) is disengaged from rear roof link (motor idling)
•  Rear roof link motor (LH) malfunction
•  Retractable hardtop control module malfunction

VERIFY OTHER RETRACTABLE HARDTOP CONTROL MODULE DTCs
•  Clear the DTC for the retractable hardtop control module using the M-MDS.
•  Retrieve the retractable hardtop control module DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Is the DTCs U3000:44/U3000:45/U3000:49 displayed?
Yes
Replace the retractable hardtop control module, then go to Step 4.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT REAR ROOF LINK
•  Verify if the rear roof link motor (LH) is disengaged from the rear roof link.
•  Is the rear roof link motor (LH) disengaged from the rear roof link?
Yes
Install the rear roof link motor (LH) to the correct position, then go to Step 4.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT REAR ROOF LINK MOTOR (LH)
•  Inspect the rear roof link motor (LH).
•  Is the rear roof link motor (LH) normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the rear roof link motor (LH), then go to the next step.
4
VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED
•  Clear the DTC for the retractable hardtop control module using the M-MDS.
•  Retrieve the retractable hardtop control module DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Is the same DTC displayed?
Yes
Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
•  If the malfunction recurs, replace the retractable hardtop control module.
Go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED
•  Are any other DTCs displayed?
Yes
Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
