Description

Rear roof link motor (LH) operation time-out

Detection condition
•  The retractable hardtop control module detects that the rear roof link motor (LH) is operating for 10 s or more.
Fail-safe
•  Stops retractable hardtop operation
Possible cause
•  Retractable hardtop control module malfunction
•  Foreign matter penetrates raer roof link
•  Rear roof link motor (LH) malfunction

VERIFY OTHER RETRACTABLE HARDTOP CONTROL MODULE DTCs
•  Clear the DTC for the retractable hardtop control module using the M-MDS.
•  Retrieve the retractable hardtop control module DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Is the DTCs U3000:44/U3000:45/U3000:49 displayed?
Yes
Replace the retractable hardtop control module, then go to Step 4.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT REAR ROOF LINK
•  Visually inspect the raer roof link for foreign matter.
•  Has foreign matter penetrated the raer roof link?
Yes
Remove foreign matter from the raer roof link, then go to Step 4.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT REAR ROOF LINK MOTOR (LH)
•  Inspect the raer roof link motor (LH).
•  Is the raer roof link motor (LH) normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the raer roof link motor (LH), then go to the next step.
4
VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED
•  Clear the DTC for the retractable hardtop control module using the M-MDS.
•  Retrieve the retractable hardtop control module DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Is the same DTC displayed?
Yes
Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
•  If the malfunction recurs, replace the retractable hardtop control module.
Go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED
•  Are any other DTCs displayed?
Yes
Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
