SEAT SIDE COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Warning

Handling a seat equipped with a side air bag improperly can accidentally operate (deploy) the air bag, which may seriously injure you. Read the service warnings/cautions in the Workshop Manual before handling a seat (side air bag integrated). (See AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE WARNINGS.)(See AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE CAUTIONS.)

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for 1 min or more.(See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the seat.(See SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Apply protective tape to the positions shown in the figure.

4.  Using a plastic hammer, tap a wood slab in several passes in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and remove the recliner lever knob.

5.  Move the seat side cover in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and disengage the clip.

6.  Insert the remover tool to the positions shown in the figure.

7.  Move the remover tool in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and detach the tab.

8.  Move the seat side cover in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and unhook the hook.

9.  Move the seat side cover in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and remove it.

10.  Install in the reverse order of removal.
