RETRACTABLE HARDTOP

id091600016000

Outline

•  With the adoption of the retractable hardtop, the roof can be opened/closed electrically.
•  A retractable hardtop has been adopted which has the following advantages.
―  By only operating the switch, opening/closing of the roof can be completed without changing the driving posture, improving convenience.
―  The instrument cluster indication, indicator light, and the alarm sound are used to notify the driver of the roof status, improving convenience.
―  The overall roof opening/closing time has been shortened by optimizing the roof operation during opening/closing.
―  With the adoption of the metal top, quietness has been improved.

Operation

Operation condition
•  When all the following conditions are met, the retractable hardtop operates.
―  Ignition is switched ON
―  Trunk lid is in fully closed position
―  Selector lever is in position other than R (AT vehicles)
―  Shift lever is in position other than R (MT vehicles)
―  Vehicle inclination angle is within ± 15 °
―  Vehicle speed is 10 km/h or less
―  Retractable hardtop switch is on (retractable hardtop switch is pressed)

Electric open operation

Note
•  If any of the operation conditions is not met even when the retractable hardtop is operating, the retractable hardtop control module may temporarily stop.

1.  When the retractable hardtop switch is pressed in the open direction, a retractable hardtop open signal is input (1) to the retractable hardtop control module.

2.  When the retractable hardtop control module detects the retractable hardtop open signal with all retractable hardtop open operation conditions met, it operates the rear roof link motor, and moves the rear roof in the direction of arrow (2) shown in the figure and sends the following signals simultaneously.

•  Operation start buzzer request signal (3) to instrument cluster
•  Door glass open request signal (4) to power window control module

3.  When the instrument cluster receives an operation start buzzer request signal, the operation start buzzer is activated (5).

4.  When the power window control module receives a door glass open request signal, it lowers the door glass.

5.  When the retractable hardtop control module receives a door glass open completion signal (6) from the power window control module, it operates (7) the top lock motor and releases the top lock (8).

6.  When the rear roof is opened to the specified position or more, the retractable hardtop control module operates the front roof link motor and moves the front/middle roof in the direction of arrow (9).

7.  When the retractable hardtop control module receives an ON signal (10) from the rear roof open limit switch, it determines that the rear roof is fully opened, and stops the rear roof link motor.

8.  When the front roof is opened to the specified position or more, the retractable hardtop control module operates the rear roof link motor and moves the rear roof in the direction of arrow (11).

9.  When the retractable hardtop control module receives an ON signal (12) from the front roof close limit switch, it determines that the front/middle roof is fully closed, and stops the front roof link motor.

10.  When the retractable hardtop control module receives an ON signal (13) from the rear roof close limit switch, it determines that the rear roof is fully closed, and stops the rear roof link motor and sends the following signals simultaneously.

•  Operation end buzzer request signal (14) to instrument cluster
•  Door glass close request signal (15) to power window control module

11.  When the instrument cluster receives an operation end buzzer request signal, the operation end buzzer is activated (16).

12.  When the power window control module receives a door glass close request signal, it raises the door glass.

Electric close operation

amxzzn00001514

1.  When the retractable hardtop switch is pressed in the close direction, a retractable hardtop close signal is input (1) to the retractable hardtop control module.

2.  When the retractable hardtop control module detects a retractable hardtop close signal with all retractable hardtop close operation conditions met, it operates the rear roof link motor, and moves the rear roof in the direction of arrow (2) shown in the figure and sends the following signals simultaneously.

5.  When the retractable hardtop control module receives a door glass open completion signal (6) from the power window control module and the rear roof is opened to the specified position or more, the retractable hardtop control module operates the front roof link motor and moves the front/middle roof in the direction of arrow (7).

6.  When the retractable hardtop control module receives an ON signal (8) from the rear roof open limit switch, it determines that the rear roof is fully opened, and stops the rear roof link motor.

7.  When the front/middle roof is opened to the specified position or more, the retractable hardtop control module operates the rear roof link motor and moves the rear roof in the direction of arrow (9).

8.  When the retractable hardtop control module receives an ON signal (10) from the front roof close limit switch, it determines that the front roof is fully closed, and stops the front roof link motor and operates (11) the top lock motor simultaneously, and secures the top lock (12).

10.  When the instrument cluster receives an operation end buzzer request signal, the operation end buzzer is activated (16).

11.  When the power window control module receives a door glass close request signal, it raises the door glass.
