ROOF LINK MOTOR
id091600016700
Purpose
• The roof link motor transmits rotation force to the front/rear roof link to open/close the retractable hardtop.
Functions
• When the roof link motor receives an open/close request signal from the retractable hardtop control module, it rotates clockwise/counterclockwise.
Construction
• The roof link motor consists of the following parts.
-
― Motor
― Connector
― Gear
• Two Hall effect switches are located in the roof link motor.
-
― The Hall effect switches output pulse signals to the retractable hardtop control module.
Operation
Open operation
-
• When the roof link motor receives an open request signal from the retractable hardtop control module, the motor rotates clockwise.
Close operation
-
• When the roof link motor receives a close request signal from the retractable hardtop control module, the motor rotates counterclockwise.
Hall effect switch operation
-
• The Hall effect switch utilizes magnets set on a rotating axis to detect the motor rotation, and outputs one pulse cycle for each rotation of the motor rotation axis.
• The high and low pulse points of Hall effect switches 1 and 2 are different during opening and closing because the phase difference shifts by approx. 90°.
