Hall sensor low power supply voltage

DETECTION CONDITION
•  Power supply voltage to the Hall sensor is 5 V or less.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
•  Battery malfunction
•  Open or short circuit in wiring harness between power retractable hardtop control module and roof/deck panel motor
•  Power retractable hardtop control module malfunction

Diagnostic procedure

INSPECTION

ACTION

1
INSPECT THE BATTERY
•  Measure the battery positive voltage.
•  Is the measured voltage 7.5 V or more?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
The battery has a malfunction.
Inspect the charge/discharge system.

INSPECT THE WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN POWER RETRACTABLE HARDTOP CONTROL MODULE AND ROOF/DECK PANEL MOTOR
•  Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Disconnect the power retractable hardtop control module and roof/deck panel motor connector.
•  Inspect for continuity between power retractable hardtop control module connector terminal 1G and following terminals:
―  Roof motors connector terminal B
―  Deck panel motors connector terminal D
•  Is there continuity?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness.

INSPECT THE POWER RETRACTABLE HARDTOP CONTROL MODULE
•  Connect the negative battery cable.
•  Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
•  Push the power retractable hardtop switch.
•  Measure the power retractable hardtop control module connector terminal 1G voltage.
•  Is the measured voltage 5.0 V or more?
Yes
DTC troubleshooting completed.
No
Replace the power retractable hardtop control module.
