• A CAN (Controller Area Network) system has been adopted in which multiple signals are transmitted over a single communication path as a result of wiring harness simplification.

• Twisted-pair wiring is used for connections between the following modules.

― PCM

― TCM (AT)

― ABS HU/CM (with ABS)

― DSC HU/CM (with DSC)

― Power retractable hardtop control module (with power retractable hardtop)

― Active bonnet control module (with active bonnet)

― Keyless control module (with theft-deterrent system)

― Steering angle sensor (with DSC)

― Instrument cluster

― Audio unit (with HF/TEL system)

― HF/TEL unit (with HF/TEL system)

• With an on-board diagnostic function included for each multiplex module, display of DTCs using the Mazda Modular Diagnostic System (M-MDS) has improved serviceability.
