OIL JET VALVE CONSTRUCTION/OPERATION [MZ-CD 1.4 DI Turbo]

Construction

•  The oil jet valves are installed in the cylinder block with banjo bolts. The oil jet valve nozzles are installed pointed toward the back surface of each piston and cool the piston skirts.
•  The banjo bolts connect the oil jet valve nozzles with the engine lubrication system. They are equipped with integral valves which maintain optimum oil pressure in the engine by controlling the oil injection according to the pressure applied to them.

Operation

•  Oil pressure applied to the valve in the banjo bolt opens and closes the oil passage-way to the nozzle and controls oil injection starting and stopping.
•  Oil pressure greater than the specified value applied to the valve in the banjo bolt opens the oil passage to the spring-pressed nozzle, starting injection. Conversely, oil pressure less than the specified value applied to the valve blocks the oil passage by spring force stopping injection.
