• The MAF sensor is located on the outlet of the air cleaner housing.
• The MAF sensor measures the quantity of fresh air taken in by the engine.
• The MAF sensor signal is used to control the EGR. Using the value for the fresh air taken in, the engine management system can calculate the recirculated exhaust quantity and control it.
