Vehicles with Filler Tube

Warning
•  Replace the CVT fluid while the CVT fluid temperature is low, otherwise it can cause severe burns or serious injury.

1.  Drain the dipstick.

2.  Remove the drain plug and the gasket, and drain the CVT fluid.

Caution
•  Verify the installation direction of the gasket as shown in the figure.

3.  Install a new gasket and drain plug.

Tightening torque
15—19 N·m {1.6—1.9 kgf·m, 12—14 ft·lbf}

4.  Add the specified CVT fluid from the oil filler tube until it reaches the lower limit of the dipstick.

Specified CVT fluid
Mobil CVTF 3320
CVT fluid capacity (approx. quantity)
6.7 L {7.1 US qt, 5.9 lmp qt}

5.  Verify the CVT fluid level. (See CVT (CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSAXLE) FLUID INSPECTION [DJVA-EL].)


Vehicles without Filler Tube

Warning
•  Drain the CVT fluid while the CVT fluid temperature is low, otherwise it can cause serve burns or serious injury.
Note
•  The following procedure is for draining the CVT fluid from the oil pan, not for complete replacement of the CVT fluid.

1.  Remove the overflow plug and gasket from the oil pan.

2.  Remove the overflow tube using a hexagonal wrench, and drain the CVT fluid.

3.  Install the overflow tube to the oil pan using a hexagonal wrench.

Caution
•  Install the overflow tube to the specified tightening torque. If the overflow tube is not tightened to the specified torque, the CVT fluid cannot be adjusted to the specified level.
Tightening torque
0.8 N·m {8.2 kgf·cm, 7.1 in·lbf}
