Purpose, Function
• The starter interlock prevents a false start of the vehicle at engine start and assures safety. If the clutch pedal is not depressed, engine starting is inhibited.
Construction
• The starter interlock switch is located on the clutch pedal.
Operation
• The starter interlock switch rod is pressed by the depression of the clutch pedal. At this time, the starter interlock switch is turned on, and by establishing a circuit, engine starting (from starter) permission is transmitted to the PCM and start stop unit.
