Outline

• A liftgate opener system has been adopted in which the liftgate can be opened just by pressing the liftgate opener switch.

Function

• The BCM operates the liftgate lock actuator and opens the liftgate based on the liftgate opener switch signal.

Operation

• When the BCM detects the liftgate opener switch on signal while the door lock-link switch (driver's side) unlock signal (driver's door lock unlocked) is detected and the theft-deterrent system is not operating with any of the following conditions met, it opens the liftgate.

Operation Conditions

― Vehicle speed of 3 km/h {2 mph} or less received

― Ignition switched OFF

1. When the liftgate opener switch is pressed, it turns on (1).

2. When the BCM detects the liftgate opener switch on signal with the liftgate opener system operation conditions met, it sends (2) a liftgate release signal to the electrical supply unit (ESU).

3. When the electrical supply unit (ESU) receives the liftgate release signal, it turns the transistor on (3) and the liftgate release relay on (4).

4. When the liftgate release relay turns on, the liftgate lock actuator operates (5).

5. When the liftgate lock actuator operates, the latch lever is released to open the liftgate.
