CARGO COMPARTMENT LIGHT

Purpose

• The cargo compartment light illuminates the cargo room interior when the liftgate is opened.

Function

• When the electrical supply unit (ESU) receives a cargo compartment light on request signal from the BCM, the cargo compartment light turns on by turning the cargo compartment light switch on.

Construction

• The cargo compartment light is positioned on the trunk side trim.

Operation

1. When the liftgate is opened, the liftgate latch switch is on (1) and the BCM detects (2) a liftgate latch switch on signal.

2. When the BCM detects the liftgate latch switch on signal, it sends (3) the cargo compartment light on request signal to the electrical supply unit (ESU) via LIN communication.

3. When the electrical supply unit (ESU) receives the cargo compartment light on request signal, it turns the transistor on (4).

4. When the cargo compartment switch is on (5), the cargo compartment light bulb turns on (6).
