DOOR-AJAR WARNING LIGHT
id092200018700
Purpose
• The door-ajar warning light warns the driver that any door or the liftgate is open.
Function
• When the instrument cluster receives any of the following signals sent from the BCM via the CAN communication, it turns the door-ajar warning light on.
-
― Door latch switch on (door open) signal
― Liftgate latch switch on (liftgate open) signal
Construction
• Turning on/off of the door-ajar warning light is controlled by the instrument cluster microcomputer based on the door latch switch on (door open) signal or liftgate latch switch on (liftgate open) signal from the BCM.
• The door-ajar warning light is built into the instrument cluster.
Operation
1. The instrument cluster receives (1) a door latch switch on (door open) signal or liftgate latch switch on (liftgate open) signal from the BCM via CAN communication.
2. The instrument cluster turns the transistor on (2) based on each signal.
3. When the transistor turns on, a ground circuit with the door-ajar warning light is established and the door-ajar warning light turns on (3).
