POSITIVE CRANKCASE VENTILATION (PCV) VALVE INSPECTION [ZY]

1.  Remove the intake manifold. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [ZY].)

2.  Remove the PCV valve and the oil separator as a single unit.

3.  Verify that there is no airflow when pressure is applied to port A.

•  If there is airflow, replace the PCV valve and the oil separator as a single unit.
Oil separator tightening torque
8—10 N·m {82—101 kgf·cm, 71—88 in·lbf}

4.  Verify that there is airflow when vacuum is applied to port A.

•  If there is no airflow, replace the PCV valve and the oil separator as a single unit.
