Engine stalls when shifted to D, S*1, L*1, M*2 ranges, or in R position

DESCRIPTION

• Engine stalls when shifting from N or P position to D, S*1, L*1, M*2 ranges or R position at idle.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

• The malfunction is on the engine control side (i.e. electronic throttle control system). Otherwise, the malfunction is in the input/turbine speed sensor (engine sometimes starts) or TCC circuit (engine always stalls).

Repeat basic inspection and repair or replace any defective parts according to inspection result.
No
Repair or replace any defective parts according to inspection results.

- If okay, return to diagnostic index to service any additional symptoms.
- If malfunction remains, inspect related Service informations and perform repair or diagnosis.
• If vehicle not repaired, trouble shooting completed.
• If vehicle not repaired or additional diagnostic information not available, replace PCM.
