• Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
• Inspect the fuel gauge needle does not move after ignition switch is turned off, or display does not indicate F even though fuel tank is full.
• Is fuel gauge okay?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
The system is normal.
|

|
• Start the instrument cluster input/output check mode.
• Select the check code 22.
• Display value is 24-129?
|
Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Go to Step 4.
|

|
• Perform the check code 23 inspection.
• Is there any malfunction?
|
Yes
|
Replace the instrument cluster.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.
|

• Perform the check code 22 inspection.
• Is there any malfunction?
|
Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Go to Step 6.
|

|
• Turn the ignition switch to OFF position.
• Inspect the connection of the instrument cluster connector (24-pin).
• Disconnect the instrument cluster connector (24-pin).
• Inspect both the instrument cluster and wiring harness-side connector terminal 2M and 2D for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, corrosion).
• Are all the pins normal?

Yes
|
Replace the instrument cluster.
|
No
|
If poor connection of instrument cluster connector
• Securely connect the instrument cluster connector.
If the instrument cluster side connector in wrong
• Replace the instrument cluster.
If the wiring harness-side connector is wrong
• Repair or replace the pins and/or the connector.

• Turn the ignition switch to LOCK position.
• Remove the instrument cluster.
• Disconnect the instrument cluster connector (24-pin).
• Inspect for continuity the following wiring harness.

- Terminal 2M (24-pin)-GND
-
- Terminal 2D (24-pin)-GND
• Is there continuity?

Yes
|
Repair or replace the wiring harness between the instrument cluster and GND.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.
|

|
• Turn the ignition switch to OFF position.
• Inspect the connection of the fuel gauge sender unit connector (4-pin).
• Inspect both the fuel gauge sender unit and wiring harness-side connector for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, corrosion).
• Are all the pins normal?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
If poor connection of fuel gauge sender unit connector
• Securely connect the fuel gauge sender unit connector.
If the fuel gauge sender unit side connector in wrong
• Replace the fuel gauge sender unit.
If the wiring harness-side connector is wrong
• Repair or replace the pins and/or the connector.

• Turn the ignition switch to LOCK position.
• Inspect for continuity following the wiring harness between instrument cluster and fuel gauge sender unit.

- Terminal 2M (24-pin)- terminal A (4-pin)

- Terminal 2D (24-pin)- terminal C (4-pin)
• Is there continuity?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Repair or replace the wiring harness between the instrument cluster and fuel gauge sender unit.
|

• Turn the ignition switch to OFF position.
• The installation of the fuel gauge sender unit is confirmed.
• Is it normal?
|
Yes
|
Inspect the fuel gauge sender unit.
Repair or replace if necessary.
|
No
|
The fuel gauge sender unit is installed on a regular position.
|
