COOLING FAN MOTOR INSPECTION [MZ-CD 1.6 (Y6)]

Warning
•  The cooling fan solenoid resistor is extremely hot while the cooling fan motor is operating and directly after it has stopped. To prevent burns, do not touch the cooling fan solenoid resistor while the cooling fan is operating or directly after it has stopped.

Fan Motor Part Inspection

1.  Verify that the battery is fully charged. (See BATTERY INSPECTION [MZ-CD 1.6 (Y6)].)

2.  Disconnect the cooling fan motor connector (2 terminals).

3.  Install a tester and battery to the cooling fan motor connector (2 terminals) as shown in the figure.

4.  Verify that the fan motor operates smoothly at the standard current.

•  If there is any malfunction, replace the applicable part.

Cooling Fan Solenoid Resistor Inspection

1.  Disconnect the cooling fan solenoid resistor connector (2 terminals).

2.  Measure the resistance between cooling fan solenoid resistor connector terminals A and B.

•  If not as specified, replace the cooling fan solenoid resistor.
