Operation Condition

•  The PCM stops energization to the A/C relay when any of the following conditions are met:

During acceleration (throttle valve opening angle 50% or more)

When engine coolant temperature is 113°C {235°F}
Repeatedly turns on and off every 10 s until the engine coolant temperature is less than approx. 107°C {225°F}
Improved engine reliability
Engine coolant temperature is 117°C {243°F} or more
Until engine coolant temperature is less than 110°C {230°F}
Improved engine reliability
At high engine speed
(engine speed 6,800 or more)
Until engine speed decreases to less than 6,300 rpm
Improved A/C compressor reliability
When temperature in PCM is 115°C {239°F} or more
Until temperature is PCM decreases to less than 112°C {234°F}
PCM protection
When evaporator temperature sensor is less than 3.7°C {39°F}*1
Until evaporator temperature sensor is 4.5°C {40°F} or more
To prevent blocking the air passing through evaporator due to freezing of dripping water.
•  Brake pedal is depressed with all of the following conditions met
―  Generator output current is at specified value or more
―  Estimated value of the power brake unit vacuum is at the specified value or less
―  Vehicle speed is at specified value or less
