CLUTCH FLUID AIR BLEEDING/REPLACEMENT [B65M-R]

id0510h3800700

Caution
•  Fluid will damage painted surfaces. Be careful not to spill any on painted surfaces. If it is spilled, wipe it off immediately.
•  Keep the fluid level in the reserve tank at 3/4 full or more during the air bleeding.
•  Do not mix different types of fluid, otherwise the clutch may not operate normally.
•  Do not reuse old fluid, otherwise the clutch may not operate normally.
•  Do not perform the quick clutch operation more than once during a 3 s period.
Note
•  The clutch pedal does not return in the early stages of air bleeding because the assist spring force is strong. If this occurs, pull the clutch pedal back using a hand or foot.

1.  Draw the fluid from the reservoir tank with a suction pump.

5.  The other person depresses the clutch pedal to full stroke taking approx. 3 s or more, and then holding the pedal depressed.

6.  After waiting approx. 5 s or more, tighten the bleeder screw.

7.  Return the clutch pedal slowly taking 3 s or more while suppressing the spring force.

8.  Wait approx. 5 s or more and return to Step 3.

9.  Repeat Steps 3 to 7 until no air bubbles are visible from the plastic hose.

10.  Add new specified fluid to the maximum level of the reservoir tank.

11.  After air bleeding, inspect the following:

―  Clutch operation
―  Fluid leakage
―  Fluid level
