Block Diagram
• The PCM performs A/C compressor control, A/C cut-off control, and idle air control based on the input signals from each sensor and switch, then outputs operation signals to the A/C relay and throttle valve actuator.
A/C Compressor Control
• The PCM performs all of the air conditioner controls including the climate control unit functions which have been integrated into the PCM.
• The PCM controls the A/C relay (magnetic clutch) and the throttle valve actuator based on the input signals from each sensor and switch.

• To prevent the evaporator being frozen while the A/C is on (A/C and fan switches are on), the PCM switches the A/C signal on/off (on/off of the magnetic clutch) based on the temperature signal from the evaporator temperature sensor so that the temperature of the air passing through the evaporator is within a certain range.
