Detection Condition

•  Short to ground in keyless control module ACC input

Possible Causes

•  Short to wiring harness between ignition switch and keyless control module
•  MIRROR 7.5 A fuse malfunction
•  Battery malfunction
•  Keyless control module malfunction

FUSE INSPECTION
•  Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Remove the MIRROR 7.5 A fuse.
•  Is the fuse normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the fuse.

BATTERY INSPECTION
•  Measure the battery positive voltage.
•  Is the voltage between 9—16 V?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Higher than specification
•  Replace or inspection the battery.
•  Go to Step 4.
Lower than specification
•  Replace or charge the battery.
•  Go to Step 4.

INSPECT WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN IGNITION SWITCH AND KEYLESS CONTROL MODULE
•  Disconnect the keyless control module connector and ignition switch connector.
•  Inspect the wiring harnesses between the ignition switch connector terminal B and keyless control module connector terminal 2A for the following:
―  Short to ground
―  Short to power supply
•  Is the wiring harness normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness between the ignition switch and keyless control module.

MEASURE KEYLESS CONTROL MODULE INPUT VOLTAGE
•  Reconnect the disconnected connectors.
•  Connect the negative battery cable.
•  Turn the ignition switch to the ACC position.
•  Measure the voltage of keyless control module connector terminal 2A.
•  Is the voltage normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the keyless control module.

VERIFY DTCs
•  Clear DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Verify DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Is DTC U3004:16 displayed?
Yes
Replace the keyless control module.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
