Caution

•  Do not disassemble the oil pump because it is a precision unit.

1.  Disassemble in the order indicated in the table.

1	Water jacket spacer
2	Dual-mass flywheel (MTX)/drive plate (ATX) installation bolt (See Dual-mass Flywheel (MTX)/Drive Plate (ATX) Installation Bolt Disassembly Note.)
3	Backing plate (ATX)
4	Dual-mass flywheel (MTX)/drive plate (ATX)
5	Rear oil seal (See Rear Oil Seal Disassembly Note.)
6	End plate
7	Oil pipe
8	Oil pump
9	Oil strainer

Dual-mass Flywheel (MTX)/Drive Plate (ATX) Installation Bolt Disassembly Note

MTX

1.  Hold the dual-mass flywheel using the SST (49 E011 1A0).

2.  Remove the lock bolts, and remove the plate and the dual-mass flywheel.

ATX

1.  Set the SST against the drive plate.

2.  Loosen the drive plate installation bolts uniformly in two or three steps in the order shown in the figure, then remove the bolts and the drive plate.

Rear Oil Seal Disassembly Note

1.  Cut the oil seal lip using a utility knife.

2.  Remove the oil seal using a flathead screwdriver with the tip protected by a clean cloth to prevent damage to the oil seal sliding part of the crankshaft.
