DOOR-AJAR WARNING LIGHT
id092200018700
Purpose
• The door-ajar warning light warns the driver that any door or the trunk lid (4SD)/liftgate (5HB) is open.
Function
• When the instrument cluster receives any of the following signals sent from the BCM via the CAN communication, it turns the door-ajar warning light on.
-
― Door latch switch on (door open) signal
― Trunk lid latch switch on (trunk lid open) signal (4SD)
― Liftgate latch switch on (liftgate open) signal (5HB)
Construction
• Turning on/off of the door-ajar warning light is controlled by the instrument cluster microcomputer based on the door latch switch on (door open) signal, trunk lid latch switch on (trunk lid open) signal (4SD), or liftgate latch switch on (liftgate open) signal (5HB) from the BCM.
• The door-ajar warning light is built into the instrument cluster.
Operation
1. The instrument cluster receives (1) a door latch switch on (door open) signal, trunk lid latch switch on (trunk lid open) signal (4SD), or liftgate latch switch on (liftgate open) signal (5HB) from the BCM via CAN communication.
2. The instrument cluster turns the transistor on (2) based on each signal.
3. When the transistor turns on, a ground circuit with the door-ajar warning light is established and the door-ajar warning light turns on (3).
