FUEL TANK INSPECTION

• The rollover valve and check valve (two-way) built into the fuel tank are inspected in this inspection.

1. Remove the fuel tank assembly. (See FUEL TANK REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

2. Remove the charcoal canister.

3. Plug the fuel pump unit pipe.

4. Install the pump to port A (check valve (two-way)).

5. Verify that air flows when a pressure of -2.0 kPa {-15 mmHg, -0.6 inHg} is applied to port A with the fuel tank level.

• If there is no airflow, replace the fuel tank.

6. Verify that air flows when a pressure of +5.9 kPa {+44 mmHg, +1.7 inHg} is applied to port A.

• If there is no airflow, replace the fuel tank.
• If there is airflow, place the fuel tank upside down.

7. Verify that air does not flow when a pressure of -2.0 kPa {-15 mmHg, -0.6 inHg} is applied to port A.

• If there is airflow, replace the fuel tank.
