Outline

• The function of the fuel injection control is essentially carried over from that of the previous Mazda 121 121DEMIO (DW) models except for the following:
- Fuel cut control

Fuel Cut

• Other than for fuel cut related to excess engine speed and deceleration that occur depending on the engine operation condition, fuel cut occurs under the following conditions:

Excessive vehicle speed fuel cut (ZY)

Purpose
• To prevent excess vehicle speed
Execution condition
• When engine speed is 4,000 rpm or more and vehicle speed is 170 km {105 mph} or more.

Fuel cut during shifting (ATX)

Purpose
• To reduce shift shock during shifting
Execution condition
• During shifting (Fuel cut occurs on 1st and 4th cylinders.)

Fuel cut when sensor is damaged

Purpose
• To prevent damage to the engine by abnormal firing from abnormal input of cylinder-distinct and engine rotation signals
Execution condition
• Damage to CKP sensor or the CMP sensor is detected

De-choke control

Purpose
• To improve engine startability during wet-fouling of the spark plugs
Execution condition
• Cranking the engine when the throttle valve approaches fully open.
