DESCRIPTION

• HOLD indicator light is flashing and abnormal shifting (fixed to 4GR) but no DTC indicate.
• Vehicle acceleration poor at start.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

• Vehicle speed sensor malfunction
• Forward clutch malfunction
• Shift solenoid malfunction
• PCM malfunction

IDLING TEST

• Start the engine and warm up.
• Wait 3 s after select D range and depress the brake pedal.
• Dose HOLD indicator light flashing and fixed to 4GR?
Yes
Go to Step 4.
No
Go to next step.

DRIVING TEST

• Start the engine and warm up.
• Drive the vehicle within 3 s after select D range.
• Release the accelerator pedal with the vehicle accelerated (vehicle speed is 10 km/h {6.2 mph} or more) and drive the vehicle for 3 s or more with the brake pedal slightly depressed (brake switch is ON).
• Dose HOLD indicator light flashing and fixed to 4GR?
Yes
Go to next step.
No
No concern is detected at this position.
Inspect the vehicle speed sensor or harness/connector intermittent.
• If malfunction is detected, repair or replace defected part, then go to Step 5.
• If malfunction is not detected, then go to Step 5.

INSPECT THE VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR

• Is the vehicle speed sensor normal?
Yes
Go to Step 5.
No
Replace the vehicle speed sensor, then go to Step 5.

INSPECT THE DTC

• Turn the ignition switch to LOCK position.
• Turn the ignition switch to ON position.
• DTC P0752, is present?
Yes
Go to applicable DTC inspection.
No
Replace the forward clutch, then go to next step.

VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE

• Perform "After Repair Procedure".
• Are any DTCs present?
Yes
Go to applicable DTC inspection.
No
Troubleshooting completed.
