• Using the WDS or equivalent, confirm the display status of the PID.
(See PID/DATA MONITOR TABLE.)
- OD_P_CRSH
Is the passenger-side side air bag sensor normal?
|
Yes
|
[Present malfunction diagnosis]
Replace the SAS control module.
[Past malfunction diagnosis]
DTC troubleshooting completed.

No
|
Go to the next step.

|
Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for 1 min or more.
Remove the column cover.
Disconnect the clock spring connector.
Remove the passenger-side air bag module.
Disconnect the driver and passenger-side side air bag module connectors. (Vehicles with side air bags)
Remove the C pillar trim on both sides. (Vehicles with curtain air bags)
Disconnect the driver and passenger-side curtain air bag module connectors. (Vehicles with curtain air bags)
Remove the driver and passenger-side B-pillar lower trims. (Vehicles with pre-tensioner seat belts)
Disconnect the driver and passenger-side pre-tensioner seat belt connectors. (Vehicles with pre-tensioner seat belts)
Remove the console.
Disconnect the SAS control module connector.
Disconnect the passenger-side side air bag sensor connector.
• Inspect the wiring harnesses between SAS control module terminal 1O and passenger-side side air bag sensor terminal A, SAS control module terminal 1N and passenger-side side air bag sensor terminal B for the following:
- Short to body ground
- Short to power supply
- Open circuit
Is the wiring harness normal?

Yes
|
Replace the passenger-side side air bag sensor, then go to the next step.

No
|
Replace the air bag wiring harness.
|

|
Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for 1 min or more.
Connect the SAS control module connector.
Connect the passenger-side side air bag sensor connector.
Connect the curtain air bag module connectors on both sides.
Connect the side air bag module connectors on both sides.
Connect the passenger-side air bag module connector.
Connect the passenger-side air bag module connector.
Are DTCs B2445 and/or U2018 indicated?

Yes
|
[Present malfunction diagnosis]
Replace the SAS control module.
[Past malfunction diagnosis]
DTC inspection completed.

No
|
DTC inspection completed.
