STEERING ANGLE SENSOR INSPECTION

1. Remove the column cover.
2. Measure the voltage between steering angle sensor terminal A and the ground when the ignition switch is turned to the ON positon.

• If there is any malfunction, inspect the wiring harness between steering angle sensor terminal A. Repair or replace if necessary.

3. Measure the voltage between steering angle sensor terminal C and the ground.

• If there is any malfunction, inspect the wiring harness between steering angle sensor terminal C. Repair or replace if necessary.

4. Turn the ignition switch off.
5. Connect the WDS or equivalent to the DLC-2.
6. Select the SWA POS PID.
7. Verify that the SWA POS changes when the steering wheel is turned to the left and right.

• If the indicated value is different, replace the steering angle sensor or clock spring.
Standard

When the steering wheel is turned to the left:
-
SWA POS changes negatively.
-
When the steering wheel is turned to the right:
-
SWA POS changes positively.
