Description

•  Turn light (RH) circuit malfunction

Detection Condition

•  Short to ground in wiring harness between turn light (RH) and BCM.

Possible Causes

•  Front combination light (RH) connector or terminals malfunction
•  Front turn light (RH) malfunction
•  Front side turn light (RH) connector or terminals malfunction
•  Front side turn light (RH) malfunction
•  Rear combination light (RH) connector or terminals malfunction
•  Rear turn light (RH) malfunction
•  BCM connector or terminals malfunction
•  Short to ground in wiring harness between the following terminals:
―  Front combination light (RH) terminal C―BCM terminal 1K
―  Front side turn light (RH) terminal A―BCM terminal 1K
―  Rear combination light (RH) terminal A―BCM terminal 3J
•  BCM malfunction

VERIFY BCM DTCs
•  Clear the DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Perform the BCM DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
•  Is the same DTC present?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Go to Step 11.

INSPECT FRONT COMBINATION LIGHT (RH) CONNECTOR AND TERMINALS
•  Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Disconnect the front combination light (RH) connector.
•  Inspect the connector and terminals (corrosion, damage, pin disconnection).
•  Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Repair or replace the connector or terminals, then go to Step 10.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT FRONT TURN LIGHT BULB (RH)
•  Inspect the front turn light bulb (RH).
•  Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Replace the front turn light bulb (RH), then go to Step 10.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT FRONT SIDE TURN LIGHT (RH) CONNECTOR AND TERMINALS
•  Disconnect the front side turn light (RH) connector.
•  Inspect the connector and terminals (corrosion, damage, pin disconnection).
•  Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Repair or replace the connector or terminals, then go to Step 10.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT FRONT SIDE TURN LIGHT (RH)
•  Inspect the front side turn light (RH).
•  Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Replace the front side turn light (RH), then go to Step 10.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT REAR COMBINATION LIGHT (RH) CONNECTOR AND TERMINALS
•  Disconnect the rear combination light (RH) connector.
•  Inspect the connector and terminals (corrosion, damage, pin disconnection).
•  Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Repair or replace the connector or terminals, then go to Step 10.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT REAR TURN LIGHT BULB (RH)
•  Inspect the rear turn light bulb (RH).
•  Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Replace the rear combination light bulb (RH), then go to Step 10.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT BCM CONNECTOR AND TERMINALS
•  Disconnect the BCM connector.
•  Inspect the connector and terminals (corrosion, damage, pin disconnection).
•  Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Repair or replace the connector or terminals, then go to Step 10.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT TURN LIGHT (RH) CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND
•  Verify that the following connectors are disconnected:
―  Front combination light (RH)
―  Front side turn light (RH)
―  Rear combination light (RH)
―  BCM
•  Inspect for continuity between the following terminals (wiring harness-side) and body ground:
―  Front combination light (RH) terminal C
―  Front side turn light (RH) terminal A
―  Rear combination light (RH) terminal A
•  Is there continuity?
Yes
Repair or replace the wiring harness for a possible short to ground, then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
10
VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED
•  Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
•  Reconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Clear the DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Perform the BCM DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
•  Is the same DTC present?
Yes
Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
•  If the malfunction recurs, replace the BCM.
Go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
11
VERIFY THAT NO OTHER DTCs ARE PRESENT
•  Are any DTCs present?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
