Purpose, Function
Water pump drive belt
• The water pump drive belt transmits the crankshaft pulley rotation force to the water pump pulley.
ISG drive belt
• The ISG drive belt transmits the crankshaft pulley rotation force to the ISG and A/C compressor pulley during normal driving. During ISG drive, the ISG rotation force is transmitted to the A/C compressor pulley and crankshaft pulley.
Construction
• The drive belt is installed to the front of the engine.
• A V-ribbed belt has been adopted for the drive belt.
• Drive belt vibration is suppressed by shortening the distance between each pulley.
• With the adoption of the decoupling ring tensioner on the ISG drive belt, tension control performance during normal driving and ISG drive is assured and secure power transmission is possible even though the driving shaft changes.
• The decoupling ring tensioner consists of the following parts.
• The decoupling ring tensioner cannot be disassembled. Therefore, if there is a malfunction in the decoupling ring tensioner, replace the decoupling ring tensioner without disassembling.

Decoupling ring tensioner

During normal driving

• To transmit the rotation force from the crankshaft pulley during normal driving, the decoupling ring tensioner pulley (slewable lever side) secures the tension between the crankshaft pulley and ISG pulley.

During ISG drive
-
• To transmit the rotation force from the ISG pulley during ISG drive, the housing lever and slewable lever rotate. As a result, the decoupling ring tensioner pulley (housing lever side) assures the tension between the ISG pulley and A/C compressor pulley.
