Outline
• The air flow in the cylinder is adjusted by opening/closing the swirl control valve.

Operation
• The PCM determines the optimum swirl control valve opening angle according to the engine operation conditions and controls the output to the swirl control valve so that the actual valve opening angle reaches the target valve opening angle.

• Determined according to the engine speed, charging efficiency, engine coolant temperature, and intake air temperature.

• Calculated from the swirl control valve position sensor based on the valve fully-closed learning value.
