Outline
• The boost pressure in the intake manifold is adjusted by opening/closing the air bypass valve.
• Optimum boost pressure is achieved according to the engine operation conditions, improving the engine output.

Operation
• The PCM determines the optimum air bypass valve opening angle according to the engine operation conditions and controls the output to the air bypass valve so that the actual valve opening angle reaches the target valve opening angle.
Target valve opening angle:

• When supercharger is operating
-
― Determined according to the engine speed,intake air volume, intake air temperature, intake air pressure, barometric pressure, and supercharger rotation speed.

• When supercharger is not operating
-
― Fixed at fully open.
Actual valve opening angle:
-
• Calculated from the air bypass valve position sensor based on the valve fully-closed learning value.
