Note

•  The exhaust shutter valve position sensor is built into the exhaust shutter valve actuator. When replacing the exhaust shutter valve position sensor, replace the exhaust shutter valve actuator.

PID/DATA monitor inspection

1.  Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.

2.  Switch the ignition ON (engine off).

3.  Display PCM PID [EX_SHUT_VLV_ACT] and PCM simulation item [EX_SHUT_VLV_DSD] using the M-MDS. (See PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION.)(See PID/DATA MONITOR TABLE [PCM (SKYACTIV-X)].)(See SIMULATION INSPECTION.)(See SIMULATION TABLE [PCM (SKYACTIV-X)].)

4.  Verify that the PID [EX_SHUT_VLV_ACT] value conforms to the simulation item [EX_SHUT_VLV_DSD] value when the exhaust shutter valve opening angle (simulation item: EX_SHUT_VLV_DSD) is changed using the simulation function.

•  If not as specified, replace the exhaust shutter valve actuator. (See EXHAUST SHUTTER VALVE ACTUATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-X 2.0].)
