PID/DATA Monitor Inspection

Note

•  The air bypass valve position sensor is built into the air bypass valve. When replacing the air bypass valve position sensor, replace it together with the air bypass valve as a single unit.

1.  Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.

2.  Switch the ignition ON (engine off).

3.  Display PCM PID [AIR_BYPASS_VLV_POS_ACT] and PCM simulation item [AIR_BYPASS_VLV_POS_DSD] using the M-MDS. (See PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION.)(See PID/DATA MONITOR TABLE [PCM (SKYACTIV-X)].)(See SIMULATION INSPECTION.)(See SIMULATION TABLE [PCM (SKYACTIV-X)].)

4.  Verify that the PID [AIR_BYPASS_VLV_POS_ACT] value conforms to the simulation item [AIR_BYPASS_VLV_POS_DSD] value when simulation item [AIR_BYPASS_VLV_POS_DSD] is driven from 0° the maximum value.

•  If they cannot be verified, replace the engine oil temperature sensor/engine oil pressure sensor. (See AIR BYPASS VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-X 2.0].)
