DTC inspection
1. Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
2. Perform the DTC inspection using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION.)

• If any DTC related to the NOx sensor is present, repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (See
DTC TABLE [PCM (SKYACTIV-X)].)

• Do not disconnect the connector between the NOx sensor control module and NOx sensor. Otherwise, it could adversely affect the NOx sensor control module.
• To prevent a malfunction, do not clean the NOx sensor.
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(E)].)
2. Remove the NOx sensor. (See NOx SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-X 2.0].)
3. Visually inspect the NOx sensor for the following malfunction:

• Damage, cracks, soiling
• Sensor end clogging
• Rusted sensor terminal
• Bent sensor terminal
• Damage to exterior of wiring harness
