Vehicles With Fresh-air Duct Valve Actuator

Note

•  The fresh-air duct valve position sensor is built into the fresh-air duct. When replacing the fresh-air duct valve position sensor, replace it together with the fresh-air duct as a single unit.

PID/DATA Monitor Inspection

1.  Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.

2.  Switch the ignition ON (engine off).

3.  Display PCM PID [FRESH_AIR_DUCT_POS_ACT] and PCM simulation item [FRESH_AIR_DUCT_POS_DSD] using the M-MDS. (See PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION.)(See PID/DATA MONITOR TABLE [PCM (SKYACTIV-X)].)(See SIMULATION INSPECTION.)(See SIMULATION TABLE [PCM (SKYACTIV-X)].)

4.  Verify that the PID [FRESH_AIR_DUCT_POS_ACT] value conforms to the simulation item [FRESH_AIR_DUCT_POS_DSD] value when simulation item [FRESH_AIR_DUCT_POS_DSD] is driven from 0 the maximum value.

•  If they cannot be verified, replace the fresh-air duct. (See AIR CLEANER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-X 2.0].)
