EXHAUST GAS PRESSURE SENSOR [SKYACTIV-D 1.8]
id0140s1256700
Exhaust Gas Pressure Sensor No.1
Purpose/Function
-
• Detects the exhaust gas pressure exhausted from the cylinder as basic information for mainly EGR control and boost control.
• Detects the exhaust gas pressure exhausted from the cylinder and sends to the PCM as an exhaust gas pressure signal.
Construction
-
• Exhaust gas pressure sensor No.1 is installed to the cylinder head cover with the bracket.
• A semiconductor strain gauge has been adopted to the exhaust gas pressure sensor No.1 (as the detecting element) for detecting the exhaust gas pressure exhausted from the cylinder.
Operation
-
• Sends the signal, which fluctuates according to the exhaust gas pressure exhausted from the cylinder, to the PCM.

Exhaust Gas Pressure Sensor No.2
Purpose/Function
-
• Detects the difference in pressure between exhaust gas pressure before and after passing the diesel particulate filter as basic information for mainly diesel particulate filter regeneration control.
• Detects the difference in pressure between exhaust gas pressure before and after passing the diesel particulate filter and sends to the PCM as an exhaust gas pressure signal.
Construction
-
• Exhaust gas pressure sensor No.2 is located on the front side of the cylinder block.
• A piezoelectric element has been adopted to the exhaust gas pressure sensor No.2 (as the detecting element) for detecting the difference in pressure between exhaust gas pressure before and after passing the diesel particulate filter.
Operation
-
• Sends the signal, which fluctuates according to the difference in pressure between exhaust gas pressure before and after passing the diesel particulate filter, to the PCM.
