Purpose/Function
• Detects the engine oil temperature as basic information for mainly diesel particulate filter regeneration control.
• Detects the engine oil temperature and sends it to the PCM as an engine oil temperature signal.
Construction
• Installed on the cylinder block.
• A thermistor has been adopted (as the detecting element) for detecting the engine oil temperature.
• The engine oil temperature sensor is integrated with the engine oil pressure sensor.
Operation
• Sends the signal, which fluctuates according to the engine oil temperature, to the PCM.
