POWER BRAKE UNIT VACUUM SENSOR INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-G (WITHOUT CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (E))]

id0140u1889400

Note
•  The power brake unit vacuum sensor cannot be removed because it is integrated with the power brake unit.

With i-stop System (Without Mazda M Hybrid)

Function inspection

1.  Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.

2.  Switch the ignition ON (engine off).

3.  Display the PCM PIDs [BRK_BSTR_PRES_VOLT] and [BRK_BSTR_PRES_ACT]. (See PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION.)

4.  Compare the voltage and wer brake unit vacuum indications for the PIDs [BRK_BSTR_PRES_VOLT] and [BRK_BSTR_PRES_ACT] with the standard in the table indicated below.

•  If they match the standard, perform the voltage inspection. (See Voltage Inspection.)

Standard

BRK_BSTR_PRES_VOLT

BRK_BSTR_PRES_ACT

Voltage Inspection

1.  Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.

2.  Switch the ignition ON (engine off).

3.  Verify that the power brake unit vacuum sensor output voltage (PCM PID: BRK_BSTR_PRES_VOLT) is within the specification. (See PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION.)

•  If not within the specification, replace the power brake unit. (See BRAKE PEDAL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [R.H.D.].)(See POWER BRAKE UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L.H.D. (E)].)
