COOLANT CONTROL VALVE POSITION SENSOR [SKYACTIV-G (WITH CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (E))]

Purpose/Function
• Depending on the engine operation conditions, the coolant control valve position sensor detects the open/closed condition of the coolant control valve so that the appropriate amount of engine coolant can be sent to the appropriate coolant passage at the appropriate timing.
• The coolant control valve position sensor detects the valve angle of the coolant control valve and sends it to the PCM as a coolant control valve opening angle signal.
Construction
• The coolant control valve position sensor is integrated with the coolant control valve.
Operation
• Sends a signal to the PCM via SENT communication which fluctuates according to the engine coolant control valve angle.
