1.  Remove the propeller shaft. (See PROPELLER SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(E)].)

2.  Measure the propeller shaft center runout using the dial gauge.

3.  Inspect the play and rotation of the joint by turning the universal joint in the directions shown by the arrows.
