1.  Park the vehicle on level ground.

2.  Remove the front under cover No.2. (See FRONT UNDER COVER No.2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Remove the bolts and set the wiring harness and wiring harness bracket in a place which does not interfere with servicing.

4.  Remove the oil level plug and gasket.

5.  Verify that the manual transaxle oil is within the range shown in the figure.

•  If it is not within the range, adjust the manual transaxle oil level.

Specified manual transaxle oil
MAZDA LONG LIFE GEAR OIL G7*1

*1  :Mazda Long Life Gear Oil G7 is superior oil for low fuel cost and optimum shift-feel. Using Mazda Long Life Gear Oil G7 is recommended. If Mazda Long Life Gear Oil G7 cannot be obtained, use standard oil (API Service GL-4 (SAE 75W-80)).

6.  Install a new gasket and the oil level plug.

7.  Connect the wiring harness bracket to the manual transaxle.

8.  Install the front under cover No.2. (See FRONT UNDER COVER No.2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
