2WD

1.  Remove the front under cover No.2. (See FRONT UNDER COVER No.2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

2.  Drain the manual transaxle oil. (See MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL REPLACEMENT [C66M-R, C66MX-R].)

3.  Disconnect the front drive shaft (LH) from the manual transaxle. (See FRONT DRIVE SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(E)].)

4.  Disconnect the front drive shaft (RH) from the manual transaxle. (See FRONT DRIVE SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(E)].)

5.  Remove the oil seal (LH).

6.  Remove the oil seal (RH).

7.  Using the SSTs and a hammer, install a new oil seal (LH).

A: 0.3 mm {0.01 in}
B: 0.3 mm {0.01 in}

8.  Using the SSTs and a hammer, install a new oil seal (RH).

A: 0.3 mm {0.01 in}
B: 0.3 mm {0.01 in}

9.  Apply manual transaxle oil to the lip of each oil seal.

10.  Connect the front drive shaft (RH) to the manual transaxle. (See FRONT DRIVE SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(E)].)

11.  Connect the front drive shaft (LH) to the manual transaxle. (See FRONT DRIVE SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(E)].)

12.  Add the specified amount of specified manual transaxle oil. (See MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL REPLACEMENT [C66M-R, C66MX-R].)

13.  Install the front under cover No.2. (See FRONT UNDER COVER No.2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)


AWD

1.  Remove the front under cover No.2. (See FRONT UNDER COVER No.2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

2.  Drain the manual transaxle oil. (See MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL REPLACEMENT [C66M-R, C66MX-R].)

3.  Disconnect the front drive shaft (LH) from the manual transaxle. (See FRONT DRIVE SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(E)].)

4.  Remove the front drive shaft (RH) from the manual transaxle. (See FRONT DRIVE SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(E)].)

5.  Remove the transfer. (See TRANSFER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [C66MX-R].)

6.  Remove the oil seal (LH).

7.  Remove the oil seal (RH).

8.  Using the SSTs and a hammer, install a new oil seal (LH).

A: 0.3 mm {0.01 in}
B: 0.3 mm {0.01 in}

9.  Using the SSTs and a hammer, install a new oil seal (RH).

B: 0.3 mm {0.01 in}

10.  Apply manual transaxle oil to the lip of each oil seal.

Caution
•  Do not touch the spline of the front drive shaft because the oil seal can be damaged easily.

11.  Install the transfer. (See TRANSFER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [C66MX-R].)

12.  Install the front drive shaft (RH) to the manual transaxle. (See FRONT DRIVE SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(E)].)

13.  Connect the front drive shaft (LH) to the manual transaxle. (See FRONT DRIVE SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(E)].)

14.  Add the specified amount of specified manual transaxle oil. (See MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL REPLACEMENT [C66M-R, C66MX-R].)

15.  Install the front under cover No.2. (See FRONT UNDER COVER No.2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
