Shift Position Indication

Purpose/function

•  The shift position indication displays the selector lever range position.

Gear Position Indication

Purpose/function

•  The gear position indication is displayed during manual shift control and notifies the driver of the gear position while driving.

Operation

•  The TCM sends a gear position indication request signal to the instrument cluster based on the signal from the M position switch via the CAN.

•  If the shift down operation is inhibited during manual shift control, the TCM flashes the gear position indication 2 times. As a result, the driver is notified that the shift down operation has been canceled.

•  If the ATF temperature is 132 °C {270 °F} or more while in manual shift control, the TCM switches the gear position indication to non-display, and then switches to automatic shift control to reduce the transaxle load. When the ATF temperature is 122 °C {252 °F} or less for a specified time, the gear position indication is displayed again and manual shift control is enabled.

Automatic Transaxle Warning Light

Purpose/function

•  The automatic transaxle warning light illuminates when the transaxle has a malfunction.

Construction

•  The automatic transaxle warning light is built into the instrument cluster.

Operation

•  If the transaxle has a malfunction, the TCM sends an automatic transaxle warning light illumination request signal to the instrument cluster.

•  The TCM illuminates the automatic transaxle warning light for approx. 2 s after the ignition is switched ON to perform a bulb check of the automatic transaxle warning light.
