Air Bag/seat Belt Pre-tensioner System Warning Light
Purpose
-
• The air bag/seat belt pre-tensioner system warning light notifies the driver of a malfunction in the air bag system.
Function
-
• The air bag/seat belt pre-tensioner system warning light turns on when there is a malfunction in the air bag system.
Structure/construction
-
• The air bag/seat belt pre-tensioner system warning light is built into the instrument cluster.
• For vehicles with the center display, a warning message is displayed in the center display simultaneously when the air bag/seat belt pre-tensioner system warning light turns on. For the message content, refer to the [CENTER DISPLAY] in the workshop manual.
Operation
1. When the ignition is switched ON (engine off or on), the instrument cluster receives (1) the air bag/seat belt pre-tensioner system warning light signal from the SAS control module.
2. The instrument cluster turns on (2) the transistor based on the air bag/seat belt pre-tensioner system warning light signal.
3. When the transistor turns on, the air bag/seat belt pre-tensioner system warning light turns on (3).
